平日生活的标记与图案可以在大街上随处可见，如涂鸦、引导标示、纹身、广告和图案设计—它们都被视作当代艺术创作的组成部分。从城市景观获取灵感，为众多艺术家的艺术创新搭建了平台和同时也是他们表达思想的机会。城市、建筑、车辆、人以及广告并非是艺术唯一可以运用的场所，城市为艺术实践提供了有利区域。
