In this special show at the Obos Art Center in Tarbes, Botto e Bruno present an in-situ work. For this installation Botto e Bruno have investigated the various districts of Tarbes. In the Laubadère district, with its 60's towers, or in The Arsenal from the XIXth century industrial site, Botto e Bruno have captured the emotion of dismantled neighborhoods.Botto e Bruno's photographs focus on industrial buildings, with their roughcast facades, abandonned places, the abandonned streets and wandering teenagers. Clearly expressing their doubts about the objectivity of photographic recording - Botto e Bruno try to operate a real demolition process. From their numerous photographic sequences, Botto e Bruno recompose urban suburbs with their full essence and emotions. They proceed by assemblies, retouchs, juxtapositions, overprints, collages, recreating fictitious places confused with a certain reality. Botto e Bruno's interpretation of urban suburbs is very different from the one that we are used to in art.
