For the Shanghai Biennale, shanghainese artist Maleonn has moved his entire studio to the Shanghai Art Musuem. Maleonn has, as the New York Times reviewed it, "recreated studios with splattered paint and random objects". It's theatrical, a treasure cave showing the photographer's fantastical work and the settings he loves to use in his photos: a stuffed tiger and a skeleton appear alongside feathered costumes and mannequins as well as the more mundane, down-to-earth tools he uses. The project is "behind-the-scene" as in a rehearsal.
